DEQ’s and EPA’s Brownfields programs promote the assessment, cleanup and redevelopment of blighted or underutilized Brownfields properties throughout Montana by providing funding and environmental expertise.
Both DEQ and EPA provide Targeted Brownfields Assessment services, which can consist of a Phase I/Phase II site assessments and cost estimates, for qualified sites.
In addition, EPA awards Brownfields grant funding annually to applicants throughout the United States. These grants support revitalization efforts by funding environmental assessment, cleanup, redevelopment planning, and job training activities.
Across Montana there are multiple successful Brownfields grant recipients (Brownfields Partners) that also provide assessment and cleanup funding to assist with redevelopment of Brownfields properties.
